We have learned many things during our time here. Among them:
relationships with people are more important than any thing. That Jesus
is working all things together according to His grand purpose, and that
we cannot always see where He is leading. He guides our steps, and makes
our paths straight when we put our trust in Him. Often, He leads us one step at a time,
not revealing our next direction. The beautiful thing is that we are
not blind as we follow Him. We are walking in the Light as He is in the
Light, and in Him is no darkness at all.
I have seen John grow in his role of leadership. People rely on him, and here with Mercy In Action, he has had a plethora of responsibilities. We both have. Neither one of us slides into that role naturally, but as the months have passed, I have truly seen him rise on multiple occasions. Jesus is shaping us both, always calling us upwards and outwards, rather than downward and inward.
Our first year anniversary is just around the corner, and during that time Christ has knit us ever closer. It has been a year filled with discovery, adventure, and an ever increasing love for each other and Jesus Christ, the head of our union.
We thank you for all of your love, prayer, and support during our time here. We are learning to wait patiently on the Lord and pray in the Spirit for the people of Olongapo. Sending our love across the miles, Kels for both
